The whole idea behind this house was to take advantage of a wonderful and uninterrupted view of Burrard Inlet, downtown Vancouver and the North Shore mountains. When my client bought the property I was given the opportunity to walk the site with them and together with their vision generated a home that went as high as we could go to maximize the effect. This impact of site becomes self evident when you enter the house from below and walk up the stairs to reveal the expanse of the main living level, together with adjacent outdoor spaces and a reflection pool served with an Infinity edge.
The site itself had many challenges as we had to get variance for height, setbacks and engineering for a steep slope.
The success of this project was in the teamwork of a terrific client, and experienced builder and interior designer that helped ensure that the clients initial vision was fulfilled.
